As a world citizen, Joni has an affinity for people and the diversity of other cultures. An International Tax practitioner with over 20 years experience, she thrives in providing global tax services to the Firm’s premier Financial Services clients. Joni has an expansive global network using her strong collaborative skills to connect tax professionals and clients around the world and uses her deep country specific tax and business knowledge to advice her clients.
Joni leads the New York Metro International Tax Services practice. Previously, she led PwC’s International Tax Financial Services practice and the International Tax Desks practice.
Before specializing in Financial Services, Joni built her solid foundation in international tax planning within the Firm’s “European Tax Group” and “Inbound Group” in New York advising US and non-US MNC’s. She frequently makes presentations to professional audiences on international tax issues and enjoys publishing articles on topics that are relevant to her clients.
Inspired by challenge, Joni uses her practical thinking and sound judgment to advise on complex cross-border tax matters around the world. She is an expert on fund and management company structuring and advises on global investments in a broad range of asset classes and industries.
With a visionary’s outlook and open mind she was a founding member of PwC’s Capital Projects and Infrastructure practice and advises on the structuring of global infrastructure funds and investments.
She is strong, loyal and smart and consistently strives for the best for her clients and team. She is there when you need her and has been at the side of her clients throughout the heights and crises in the Financial Services industry. Grounded by her drive for equality and quality, Joni is also committed to the advancement of women in an inclusive and diverse work environment.
Born in the Netherlands, she received her Master's degree in Taxation from the University of Amsterdam and her Masters degree in Civil Law from the University of Utrecht.
