FY21 Purpose Report
What we do matters but why we do it matters more. At PwC, we have a deep sense of responsibility and will be bold and intentional in taking action on issues that empower our firm and our people, affect our clients and shape our communities. We are committed to integrity, starting with our Code of Conduct and extending to our transparency and standards of corporate governance. We stand for inclusion and opportunity for all. We invest in our people and we are continuing to build a more diverse, technically-skilled workforce within the firm and communities we serve.
In everything we do, we use our business skills, tools, and resources to live our purpose and values. Yes, we are a business, but we are also in the business of contributing to society and helping others thrive. This is what responsible business means to us.
We continue to build a culture of belonging—one where we move from awareness to empathy and demonstrate inclusive leadership. As much as we’ve learned from our progress, we know that we’re not yet where we want to be. We believe the first step to progress is being accountable so that’s why we’re transparent in sharing what has worked well and identifying what hasn't. In 2020, we published our first-ever Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Transparency Report, which reports on our diversity strategy and data and the progress of our actions. This year we took a natural step forward by formally evolving from Diversity & Inclusion to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Our FY21 Purpose Report shares our DEI progress and outlines new aspirational goals to hold ourselves accountable.
The DEI journey is one of the most difficult challenges for an organization to take on—but like most things of utmost importance, it’s the right thing to do. As a firm, we are dedicated to making deliberate decisions, having difficult conversations, consulting with outside specialists and learning as we continue to strengthen our culture of belonging.
We continually discover how technology can help solve complex business challenges and identify new opportunities not only for ourselves, but for our clients and communities. Despite the many challenges this year has presented, technology emerged as a constant, providing solutions for productivity, collaboration and employee connectivity. By combining people, capabilities and the right technologies, we can drive the right business outcomes. This is why we’ve invested billions in technologies and upskilling for all our people, at every level and across the diversity of their experiences.
It is through this powerful combination of people and technology that we are turning today’s ideas into tomorrow’s solutions. It’s how we’re living our purpose.
Bring your experiences. Make your mark.
