Our board

Paul Griggs is the US Senior Partner of PwC, having been elected by his fellow partners. A nearly 30-year PwC veteran, Paul previously served as Vice Chair of US Markets, overseeing the strategy and execution of the commercial, people, community and quality efforts across 90+ offices. Having served as a lead client partner for some of the firm’s largest clients, he has advised companies through significant global change—including business model reinvention, public offerings, acquisitions and divestitures—driving trust within the capital markets.

In addition, Paul served as the business sponsor and co-leader of My+, the firm’s people strategy that empowers its 75,000 people to develop and grow their careers, including upskilling the entire workforce on generative AI. He also was the Banking & Capital Markets leader; Managing Partner for the New York Metro region, PwC’s largest office and geography; and Financial Services Assurance Leader in the Carolinas. A certified public accountant in New York and North Carolina, Paul holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from Wake Forest University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and sits on the Board of Junior Achievement of New York, where he chairs the Audit Committee.

Based in New York, he is a proud husband and dedicated father of three. Outside of work, he is an outdoor enthusiast, travel aficionado and avid reader.

Karen serves as the US Board Chair. She serves clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry and is a Deals partner. Karen is the PwC Sales leader supporting partners and clients and proudly serves as the global client partner for one of PwC’s largest health industries clients. Her past roles include serving as a PwC Trust Solutions partner, the Health Industries leader and Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences leader. In addition to her service on the US Board, Karen serves on the PwC Network’s Global Board. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Julie has served as the National Tax Service market leader and the Tax Mergers & Acquisitions National Practice leader. She is a subject matter specialist for financially troubled companies and divestiture transactions with 29 years of tax experience consulting on, structuring and executing mergers and acquisitions with many multinational clients. Julie organizes teaming strategies within the Tax Mergers & Acquisitions and National Tax Service practices to expand the firm’s footprint in the markets and across platforms. She is also a co-author of the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) Portfolio on Earnings and Profits.

Puneet is a principal with over 30 years of professional experience. He leads the Financial Services tax practice in the US. He joined PwC in 2001 after a six-year career as a lawyer in India. Puneet consults on tax and business issues and emerging trends with private equity and asset and wealth management clients on their deals and global operations. Puneet serves on the board of StreetWise Partners, an organization with a mission to leverage mentorship to increase employment opportunities for adults from overlooked and under-resourced communities. In addition to his service on the US Board, Puneet serves on the PwC Network’s Global Board.

Dallas is a principal in PwC's Technology practice, where he is engaged in the delivery of consulting and compliance services to the world’s largest multinational software, internet and media companies. He is also the Technology, Media and Telecom industry leader. Dallas has over 18 years of experience working with Fortune 500 software, internet, entertainment and media clients, leading deals, divestitures, business expansion and global technology transformation.

Dave is the global client partner for one our largest global financial services clients. In addition to his client role, Dave is the Boston Office Managing Partner, a facilitator for the Trust Leadership Institute and serves on the executive committee of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. He has over 25 years of professional experience serving global financial institutions. Dave uses his experience to mentor and coach executives, board members and partners to upskill themselves and their organizations through industry-leading development programs, like the Trust Leadership Institute.

Bernadette has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, residing in five offices over the span of her career — New York, Boston, Tokyo, Atlanta and Charlotte. Bernadette is the global client partner for one of our largest global financial services clients. Throughout her career, Bernadette has held a variety of roles, including US Asset & Wealth Management leader, US Board Nominating Committee member, trustee for the PwC Employee Benefit Plans, the managing partner for the financial services catalyst program and the Northeast diversity leader. She is also a former member of the Board of Trustees for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston and served on their Finance Committee.

Kevin has over 30 years of professional experience providing audit and business advisory services to clients primarily in the technology, tourism and automotive industries. He has broad experience serving a diverse mix of companies ranging from emerging businesses to some of the firm's largest global technology clients. Kevin supports the technology sector as a frequent speaker and thought leader. His past roles include serving as the US Technology, Media and Telecom Assurance sector leader, Silicon Valley Assurance leader and the software industry Assurance leader for the US firm. Kevin previously served as a member of the Accounting Advisory Council at San Jose State University and as the treasurer of the Joint Venture Silicon Valley. He continues to take an active role supporting many local community organizations including serving on the Audit Committee of the Catholic Community Foundation of Santa Clara County.

Sara is an external Observing Board Member on the US Board. She has more than 20 years of public company board service with complex global and domestic companies. She currently serves on the boards of Freeport-McMoRan, Healthpeak Properties, Weyerhaeuser and Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG). Sara founded Lewis Corporate Advisors (capital markets advisory firm) in 2009, where she served as Chief Executive Officer until 2018. Previously, she was the Chief Financial Officer of a public real estate company. Sara also serves on the Audit Committee Council for the Center for Audit Quality, the Leadership Board for the US Chamber of Commerce Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness and is a Sr Trustee for the Brookings Institution. Sara is a registered CPA and holds the CFA designation. Her experience spans corporate finance, capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions, CEO succession, executive compensation, financial reporting, risk oversight and corporate governance.

Laura has over 30 years of experience serving some of the firm’s largest and most complex financial services clients. Laura has served as the lead client partner for several of our largest global asset management clients. Previously, she served in several key leadership roles such as Assurance Human Capital leader, Assurance Diversity leader and San Francisco Market Assurance leader. Laura currently serves as a trustee for the PwC Employee Benefit Plans and as an Advisory Board member for the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, Center for Financial Reporting and Management. With her vast experience and knowledge, she is a frequent speaker for training programs and external events for clients and PwC professionals.

Scott has more than 35 years of experience serving PwC clients across various industries, including financial services, industrial products and energy. Scott leads the Dallas office, and his prior leadership roles include Greater Texas Market Managing Partner, which included oversight of 10 offices in the Texas region, and the North Texas Tax leader. He is an active member of the Dallas community and has served on numerous civic and community boards, including the Dallas Regional Chamber, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, Dallas Theater Center, Catholic Foundation, Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep, SMU Tate Lecture Series, SMU Doak Walker Award, the Klyde Warren Park Foundation and the Dallas Citizens Council.

Shawn is the Private x-Line of Service leader for Private Assurance. He also serves as the signing partner on clients in the Private space and is the point partner for various private equity firms. Shawn has 30 years of experience providing growing private and public companies with audit and business advisory services across a broad range of industries including technology, entertainment, media, professional sports, telecommunications and retail and consumer. He has served as a partner in the Core Assurance, Risk Assurance and Private sectors.

Vice Admiral (Ret.) Carol is an External Board Member on the US Board. A woman of many firsts in 30+ years with the US Navy, she currently serves on private, public and nonprofit boards, including California Water Service Group, Serco North America and the US Navy Memorial Foundation in Washington, DC. Carol is principal and owner of CMP Global LLC, which provides consulting services in organizational transformation, risk assessment, human capital and corporate governance. As the first female three-star admiral in American history to lead in a combat branch, Carol was a pioneer throughout her Navy career. She commanded two ships, a logistics force of 30 ships, a Japan-based strike-group of eight ships and the Expeditionary Force of 40,000 sailors. She was also the senior US Flag Officer responsible for military transformation and sensitive military topics such as counterterrorism and cybersecurity while on assignment with NATO.

Bob has over 30 years of experience providing audit and business advisory services to clients in the financial services industry. He currently serves as the lead client partner for one of our largest global insurance industry clients and previously served in the same capacity for two other large global insurance industry clients. His other past roles include serving as a US Vice Chair with a focus on the financial service industry, US Financial Services Assurance leader, and US Insurance sector leader. Bob also serves on the Board of Trustees of Elizabethtown College. 

Lisa has 35 years of experience providing audit and business advisory services to clients in the financial services industry, and she has served as the lead client partner for some of our largest banking and capital markets clients. Her other past roles include serving as the New York Metro Financial Services Assurance leader and as the Assurance diversity leader for the US firm. In addition to her service on the US Board, Lisa serves as the Chair of the PwC Network’s Global Board.

Earl is a strategy and operations consulting principal with 30 years of experience, primarily serving clients in energy, utilities and industrials—including renewables and energy industrials—as well as clients in other industries (auto, consumer, technology and telecommunications). He specializes in corporate and business unit strategy, deals and enterprise transformation, with functional experiences across the value chain (operations, supply chain, customer, back-office functions/shared services, integrated planning and regulatory). Earl currently serves as the lead client partner for several clients and previously served as the US/Mexico Strategy Consulting leader, Energy and Industrial Products & Services (IPS) Strategy leader, IPS Strategy Go-to-Market (GTM) leader and IPS Deals GTM leader. Earl serves on the board of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and formerly served on the national Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of the USA and on the board of the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.

Gurpreet has over 29 years of consulting experience working with large pharmaceutical, health insurance and health system clients. He also serves as the global client partner for several health industries clients. Gurpreet is responsible for delivering strategies that enhance growth, improve financial performance and leverage emerging technologies to gain competitive advantage. He is also a frequent speaker on healthcare economic trends, digital health and partnerships. Prior to PwC, Gurpreet was the managing partner for the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences practice for Diamond Management and Technology Consultants. In the Chicago community, he serves on the Board of Trustees for the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum of Chicago, the Latin School of Chicago and Aspire of Illinois.

With over 35 years of experience in audit and business advisory services, Ignacio is an Assurance partner serving consumer and industrial products clients headquartered in Mexico, as well as Mexican subsidiaries of global companies. Ignacio was a member of PwC Mexico’s Board of Partners from 2014 until 2016, when the US and Mexico firms combined their businesses. He also served as leader of the Risk Assurance Mexico practice from 2014 through 2019. He has been a partner since July 2000 and has provided audit services to multinational companies since 1988.

Derek is the Deals Platform Chief Operating Officer. He serves clients on complex, global transactions across industries for both private equity and corporate clients. Derek has over 25 years of professional experience as a transaction specialist with extensive experience in performing comprehensive pre-deal due diligence, deal execution and cross-functional post-deal separation and integration. In addition to his client work, he is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion champion and serves on the Massachusetts Regional Advisory Board for Bottom Line.

Ellen has over 30 years of consulting experience. She currently serves as the Executive Sponsor of our Sustainability practice, helping drive long-term growth for clients by building sustainable businesses and trust through investor-grade sustainability reporting. Throughout her career, Ellen has held a variety of roles, such as Deputy Platform leader for Transformation consulting and Insurance sector leader, serving clients across all insurance sub-sectors, including life and annuity, property and casualty, and reinsurance.
