Challenge

Freshman - Fifth year

Join over 5,000 other students from 84 colleges and universities, learn more about high-level tax policy issues and compete for cash prizes at the local and national levels. In addition to gaining recognition for your critical thinking and communication skills, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with PwC professionals who can provide mentoring for your career pursuits.

Challenge: PwC

Business is the place where theory is executed in real time. It's a place where decisions are made with consequences, where communication is key, and collaborative, team-oriented thinking is a must. These are the conditions created in Challenge, PwC's case competitions.

No longer within the safe confines of the classroom, PwC seeks students who are eager to plunge briefly into the environment of the real business world to show what they're made of as critical thinkers, able collaborators and persuasive advisors on important business issues.

No number-crunching exercises, Challenge focuses on high-level issues designed to test and improve your decision-making skills. Detailed accounting or tax knowledge is not required to participate. What is required is your desire to learn, meet people, experience new challenges, and have fun.

Stay tuned for more information about Challenge 2013.

Challenge 2013 coming soon

Stay tuned for Challenge 2013 informational events and materials at your school later this year. Make sure you talk with your local PwC recruiter and learn more about the timing of the competition on your campus and start thinking about your potential teammates.

PwC launched Challenge (formerly the xTREME Games) in 2002, to increase students' exposure to professional services and the world of public accounting. Since then, the competition has grown substantially, with more than 85 schools involved, and nearing 35,000 participants. Challenge continues to have a significant impact on our participants, helping them to better understand the vast career opportunities in public accounting and connecting them with professionals in the industry. The characteristics that winning teams exhibit are critical thinking, presentation skills, teamwork, and time management.

In 2012 over 955 teams from 87 colleges and universities tackled Challenge formerly called xTREME Games, which was comprised of two challenges - xACT (short for xTREME Accounting) and xTAX (short for xTREME Taxation). Congratulations to our finalists!
