Matt Wood

Matt Wood is PwC’s Global and US Commercial Technology and Innovation Officer, focused on helping clients and teams harness the power of technology to drive meaningful business outcomes. Since joining PwC in October 2024, he has led the development of cutting-edge AI tools and platforms—including PwC’s agent OS, a first-of-its-kind enterprise-grade platform for building and deploying secure AI agents. Under his leadership, PwC teams have applied AI to real-world challenges, including analyzing over 15 million lines of code to modernize and future-proof critical systems. His work is helping clients unlock the value of generative AI while giving PwC professionals access to tools that amplify expertise and drive productivity.​

Before PwC, Matt spent nearly 15 years at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he served as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence. He was instrumental in launching over 100 cloud services, including Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, Kinesis, and EMR. His innovations supported advancements in cybersecurity, quantum computing, and robotics, and helped organizations across finance, healthcare, and manufacturing scale AI securely.

Matt holds a PhD in Machine Learning and attended medical school at the University of Nottingham. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, focusing on natural language processing and bioinformatics.
