Standardizing processes across operating companies

A northeast energy provider needed to align multiple operating companies that functioned independently. With Utility Edge, the provider standardized processes to include data collection, work planning, scheduling and field execution. The provider was also able to proactively communicate with customers in response to service requests.

Simplifying and streamlining technical platforms

A multinational electricity and gas company was struggling with system bloat, which had led to more than 100 different platforms and a sprawling technical infrastructure. With Utility Edge, PwC helped the company complete its move to the cloud and modernize its operations by migrating to a true digital business platform. Results: Its platform count was reduced to just 20, with changes delivered iteratively through our agile methodology, which decreased the day-to-day impact of the migration.

Modernizing multiple business units at once

One of the world’s largest independent exploration and production companies was eager to transition hundreds of legacy environments to a modern platform based on SAP S/4HANA. The goal: Confirm all business units could work at the same speed and with the same level of scalability, regardless of their location or size. Using our agile methodology and Utility Edge, the company redefined its approach to technology and business operations, aligning its IT and business groups with customers and key partners across a cohesive technology ecosystem.
