Oscar Castañeda

Oscar is our Mexican tax desk lead Partner, from the PwC Mexico region, International Tax and M&A practices, specializing in global structures and cross border transactions involving Mexico. He has over 30 years of professional experience in the PwC Mexico tax practice during which, he has had two tours of duty based in PwC NY Metro Office leading the Mexico desk for over 7 years total.

He is an expert in tax planning and compliance, as well as in general tax consulting in Mexico. He has advised global clients established in USA, Europe, and some other regions on their business activities and international operations involving Mexico. He also supports Mexican companies, who start operating in the USA, Europe and other regions; he helps coordinate projects that require the participation of PwC Mexico and other member firms around the world.

He has participated in several projects of global clients from different industries, including tax audits for business acquisitions, design and implementation of the necessary global structure, reorganizations and transformations of the value chain, and the optimization of the tax burden in Mexico.

Oscar has participated as speaker in many professional forums in Mexico and USA, such as: the Public Accountants Board of Guadalajara Jalisco, the National Association of Tax Specialists in Jalisco, several universities (UAG, USD, etc.), the “Council for International Tax Education (CITE)”, the “Tax Executives Institute (TEI)”, and has made several internal and external presentations of PwC in both countries
