Activities

People come to the Emerging Tech Exchange to network and learn how to solve critical business and societal challenges. Over the years, we’ve found that social activities allow you to get to know your peers personally. It’s this connection that fosters collaboration. We will contact you directly and share our activity offerings in the coming months. In addition, your spouse or significant other is welcome to join you. More activity details are forthcoming.

Kindly note that our activities are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once an activity has reached capacity, we will add you to the waitlist. Our team will contact you before our program to confirm your activity selections.

Guided Restorative Coastal Walk
Time: Forthcoming
Enjoy a scenic 2.5 mile trail hike from the resort to the beach, featuring a mix of hills and flats. Beginning from the Spa's front desk, the hike will head down toward the golf course and through to the public beach trail. This hike remains on the paved trail and does not lead into the sand. Sneakers or walking shoes are recommended, as well as sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses for sun protection. The Guided Restorative Coastal Walk concludes at Young's Beach Shack for light snacks and beverages.

Stretch & Stabilize
Time: Forthcoming
Flow through a sequence of rejuvenating stretches while incorporating deep breaths, spinal alignment, posture, and body protection. This workout is designed to aid your body's ability to avoid injury and maintain flexibility, which can become more difficult as we age. The instructor guides you through each position and keeps a close eye on your alignment to help you achieve optimal results.

After stretching, multiple layers of meditation techniques will be used in this class to bring your nervous system into equilibrium, including Yoga Nidra and the crystal singing bowls featured in our yoga studio. Weather permitting, this activity will take place on the hotel’s lawn. Sunscreen is recommended.

Pickleball
Time: Forthcoming
The Tennis Club at Monarch Beach is a stunning setting for a round robin pickleball tournament. After instructions and a warm up led by one of our club pros, you will be organized by skill level and paired with different partners and opponents for each game. The goal is to provide a competitive yet fun environment where players can improve their skills and meet new people. We'll conclude with a fun tournament. Light snacks, water, soft drinks, beer, and wine will be provided. Sneakers/athletic shoes are required on the courts and sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses are recommended for sun protection.

Golf at Monarch Beach Golf Links
Time: Forthcoming
Few California golf resort experiences can match the blend of stunning natural beauty and the variety of challenges presented at Monarch Beach Golf Links. Here, along the dramatic bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, master golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr., has fashioned a one-of-a-kind golf course design – challenging and fair, with views of surf breaks on every hole. Monarch Beach Golf Links is an intriguing Orange County, CA, layout – one of only a handful of oceanfront golf courses throughout California. With commanding & sweeping views of the sea and beyond, our par-70 championship resort golf course offers an unending variety of play.

Whale watching
Time: Forthcoming
Description: Known as a landmark for marine life sightings, Dana Wharf’s whale and dolphin watching adventures offer rare glimpses into a huge variety of underwater wildlife and gorgeous scenic views you’ll never forget. Seasonally, we see over 1,500 gray whales, and year-round, we see fin whales, minke whales, humpback whales, and even sharks. You may also see dolphins, sea lions, pelicans, and other seafaring birds. Light snacks, water, soft drinks, beer, and wine will be provided. A jacket or sweater is suggested, and sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses are recommended for sun protection.
