Over the last several years, the number of annual shareholder meetings held virtually had been trending upward. But nothing could have anticipated the jump in 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic’s quick spread through the US in the spring of 2020 created the need for companies to make a quick and unplanned pivot from in-person annual meetings to a virtual or hybrid model.
