PwC joins ten other CIRA-accredited companies. Demonstrated abilities across 21 dimensions of cybersecurity incident response

Washington, DC, July 8, 2016
PwC US announced today that it has been awarded the National Security Agency’s (NSA) prominent Certified Incident Response Assistance (CIRA) accreditation. The NSA’s objective of the CIRA accreditation is to identify government approved providers qualified to provide rapid cybersecurity incident response support and intrusion detection.

PwC joins ten other companies with the CIRA accreditation. To receive the CIRA accreditation, PwC demonstrated the firm’s talent, technology and methodology abilities across 21 different dimensions of cybersecurity incident response.

“We are honored to receive the prestigious CIRA accreditation from the NSA. This is a testament to the achievements of our team and their efforts towards providing impactful cybersecurity services to our clients,” said Shane Sims, PwC Principal, Cybersecurity & Privacy Services. “This milestone is an important distinction, particularly in the public sector where this certification may soon become a prerequisite for providers, and in the private sector as organizations continue to battle cybercrime in all of its forms. The recognition will assist our firm in acquiring and retaining the best and brightest talent, as well as driving improved training in cybersecurity incident response.”

PwC’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Services practice manages cybersecurity risks with a dedication to reducing the impact to organizations and consumers by understanding the constantly evolving threat, developing and executing the right strategy, deploying and operating impactful defenses, and neutralizing security incidents. As PwC continues to advance in this space, the CIRA accreditation will help demonstrate the firm’s aptitude in providing the highest quality incident response services to government agencies and all business sectors.
