Tom Sehman is a Director in the TPDG Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  Tom is a national specialist in inventory and accounting methods, working out of the Minneapolis office.

Tom joined PwC in 2003 after six years with LIFO Systems LP, a firm specializing LIFO accounting.  In his role as the Assistant General Manager of LIFO Systems, Tom directed the operations of a firm that completed over 1,600 LIFO calculations each year. 

As a resource to businesses across the U.S., Tom has consulted on issues with respect to the LIFO inventory method, including LIFO adoption, method changes, planning, business combinations, etc.  He also has extensive experience in the area of UNICAP.

Tom has been actively involved with the Tax Methods and Periods Technical Resource Panel of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has been a member of a number of its task forces, including the Negative Section 263A Costs Task Force, the Section 263A Task Force, and the Form 3115 Electronic Filing Task Force.

Tom has taught at numerous national training events, and has developed inventory accounting training materials for both accountants and non-accountants.  He has written articles that have appeared in The Tax Adviser and Practical Accountant.

Tom is a licensed CPA in Minnesota and Texas and received his Masters of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.
