Private Company Services Leader
Shawn Panson is the US Private Company Services Leader for PwC. In this role he has a team of 170 partners and more than 2,000 audit and tax professionals dedicated to serving private companies and their owners. PwC's Private Company Services practice serves the majority of the companies on the Forbes U.S. Largest Private Company list. Shawn has over 22 years of experience providing private and public growing companies with audit and business advisory services across a variety of industries. He works closely with Assurance, Tax and Advisory teams to understand the strategies and business objectives of private companies and their owners.
Prior to leading our Private Company Services business, Shawn served as the leader of our Risk Assurance Cybersecurity, Privacy and IT Risk practice helping clients manage through the ever changing risk landscape in order to build digital trust with their stakeholders using various security and privacy control frameworks. Shawn also served as the Risk Assurance Emerging Services Leader using technology and process to bring compliance related services to our clients in areas such as third-party risk management, cloud assurance and controls automation. Shawn’s experience in this space provides him with a broad understanding of the current technology and data landscape. Private companies, whose size and ownership structure often allows them to be nimble and agile in an ever changing world, have significant opportunity to benefit from the current changes in technology.
Shawn has served global clients across a broad range of industries including technology, entertainment, media, professional sports, telecommunications and retail and consumer. Shawn has assisted his clients with mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, carve-outs, adoption of accounting standards including revenue recognition and reporting matters.
Shawn received a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and is a certified public accountant in the states of New York and New Jersey.
