Summary of experience

John has over eighteen years expereince serving clients ranging from multinational public companies in technology and biotech to private equity-backed technology companies and venture-backed startups.

He leads multiple clients through transformational change and has a broad experience encompassing numerous sectors of technology, including hardware, SAAS, security, ed-tech, cloud managed services and hosting. John also serves as quality review partner for a number of pre-IPO companies.

John advises clients in public debt and equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. He has extensive experience working with emerging growth companies and understands the issues they face, including complex equity transactions, purchase accounting, valuations, stock compensation, capitalized software and revenue recognition.

John received his Master in Professional Accounting and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

What is your favorite way to spend free time?

I love spending time with my family – I have three daughters who keep me plenty busy! We really enjoy spending time outdoors, so our ideal getaway is an afternoon wake surfing on Lake Travis, exercising, or snowboarding in Colorado. On a typical weekend, you will find me posted up by my Big Green Egg attempting to perfect beef ribs and brisket. My wife and I also enjoy live music, so we are regular attenders of ACL Music Festival and other music events around town.

What is one of your goals yet to be achieved?

To complete a triathlon.

If you could have dinner with anyone-who would it be and why?

Well, there are many people on that list, but one my top picks would be Anthony Bourdain at a street vendor stall in Vietnam.
