Andy KW. Kang

Andy (Kyung-Won) Kang is a Senior Manager on PwC’s Korea tax desk in New York. He has been assigned to PwC US from PwC Korea in June 2019. He has 2 years of work experiences in the assurance department and over 7 years in the international tax services for multinational companies.

He specializes in advising multinational clients on various tax matters including general tax compliance/advisory services, tax ruling requests, tax audit defense assistance and tax appeals, advice on strategic tax matters including M&A, restructuring and foreign direct investment, tax due diligence review, advise on international tax treaties such as withholding tax, income classification and interpretation of tax treaties. Recently, he has obtained a favorable tax ruling from Korean tax authorities regarding an exemption of withholding tax on interest income derived from a Foreign Currency Denominated Bond. That is the first favorable tax ruling issued by the tax authorities after a revision of the relevant article since 2012.
