This edition of the Global PropTech Confidence Index, created by MetaProp and in collaboration with PwC, highlights the latest trends and insights from the PropTech community worldwide.

This bi-annual publication seeks to help investors, entrepreneurs and real estate executives understand the landscape surrounding their PropTech investments and the challenges and changes facing the real estate industry at large. Through this research, MetaProp & PwC continue to keep a pulse on the most up-to-date and effective strategies for success in the ever evolving world of real estate technology.

Year-End 2022 Highlights:

  • 71% of investors expect to make more or the same number of PropTech investments, down from 88% in Mid-Year 2022.
  • 74% of investors expect to see more mergers and acquisitions over the next 12 months.
  • 33% of investors stated their portfolio companies were performing below expectations in terms of customer growth, an increase from 14% at Mid-Year 2022.
  • 57% of startup founders believe that it will be more difficult to raise capital over the next 12 months, down from 71% six months ago, but up from 20% at Year-End 2021.
  • 54% of startups have stated that without raising additional capital, they have less than 12 months of runway.
