Rick is a Chicago tax partner and previously served as the leader of PwC’s U.S. Tax Accounting Services (TAS) national practice. He has extensive experience in accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and has served as a subject matter specialist in this area for most of his career. Tax accounting services provided to clients include, tax provision outsourcing and advisory services, audit of income taxes, internal controls remediation and deferred tax studies. As the US TAS Leader, Rick oversees PwC’s delivery of accounting for income tax services, the development of thought leadership, learning and development for partners and staff and represents the Tax Line of Service in the development of the firm’s approach to auditing of income taxes. He has consulted on accounting for income taxes across many industries and routinely presents on tax accounting topics at firm-sponsored events as well as those hosted by various professional organizations.

Rick also serves as a lead tax partner in the Greater Chicago market and has 25 years of experience in providing a wide range of services to clients including, federal, international, state and local and mergers and acquisitions. As lead tax partner, he is responsible for the overall leadership of global tax engagement teams, coordination of tax services and identification of appropriate global resources to match client needs. He primarily serves large, publicly-traded ob companies across many industries including pharmaceutical and life sciences, consumer packaged goods, automotive and industrial products.
