Dear Friends in Academia,
We hope you're having a fantastic start to your summer! This month, we're sharing updates on our CPA licensure requirements. We also spotlight our GenAI for Faculty webinar and our classroom resources which include case studies, experiential learning opportunities across six key practices and our materials aimed at inspiring interest in accounting. Additionally, we feature several AI thought leadership pieces on AI, Assurance and Tax. We hope you find these updates both enjoyable and informative.
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) have formally adopted changes to the Uniform Accountancy Act that incorporate an additional path to CPA licensure. Most states have legislation in process, with an increasing number that have already passed legislation with effective dates in 2026 or 2027. To align with the industry-wide changes to the CPA licensure requirement, PwC will update our basic qualifications to align with all three pathways for CPA positions nationwide for new associates starting June 1, 2026, and beyond. Please direct any questions to your local recruiting contacts or to us_pwc.university.relations@pwc.com.
