PwC expands engineering career path to advance AI-native innovation, attract top talent, and deliver business outcomes

PwC US today announced the launch of its new engineering career path, formalizing and expanding an engineering-first approach that has been built and proven within the firm over several years. This path is designed to elevate engineering excellence across the firm, expand opportunities for technical talent, and strengthen the AI-native solutions delivered to clients. The program supports PwC’s strategy to engineer outcomes by advising on, building, and scaling technology solutions that help organizations modernize faster, unlock the value of AI, and achieve measurable business impact.

As organizations face mounting pressure to modernize legacy systems, scale AI responsibly, and deliver value at enterprise speed, PwC is building on its existing engineering capabilities and further investing in the talent and solutions that bring these innovations to life. The engineering career path introduces market-aligned titles, expanded development opportunities, and multiple routes for advancement—supporting both deep technical mastery and leadership—so engineers can build secure, scalable, and outcome-driven solutions aligned to clients’ business priorities.

PwC will further expand investment in AI-focused and technology-forward learning experiences to help engineers grow their expertise, deepen technical mastery, and stay ahead of where the industry is heading, reinforcing PwC’s ability to deliver AI-native engineering that prioritizes results over effort and value over hours.

“Engineers are central to how we help clients grow and transform, and they're vital to the future of our firm,” said Yolanda Seals-Coffield, Chief People and Inclusion Officer, PwC US. “By investing in engineering excellence, we’re equipping our teams to apply advanced software-building techniques, deep industry insight, and emerging technology to solve complex business challenges and deliver trusted, lasting outcomes.”

“Clients need trusted advisors who can build bold, disruptive solutions powered by AI and grounded in business value,” said Matt Hobbs, Cloud, Engineering, Data & AI (CEDA) Platform Leader, PwC US. “Through CEDA, we’ve been delivering AI-native, cloud-forward engineering solutions that modernize core platforms and scale innovations for years. This engineering career path formalizes and expands that proven delivery model to all areas of PwC, giving our engineers clear paths to grow and our clients greater confidence in our ability to build, not just advise.”

This engineering career path reflects PwC’s broader strategy to expand its technical capabilities and invest in the people who will build the firm’s next generation of technology-powered solutions. By formally elevating engineering as a distinct discipline across the firm—building on years of client delivery—PwC is strengthening its ability to deliver AI-native solutions at scale.

“This career path reflects what’s already true across PwC—engineers are essential, and central to how we deliver outcomes for clients,” added Hobbs.

To support this strategy, PwC will launch Engineer Your Career—an immersive early identification experience for rising college juniors. By expanding opportunities for engineers at all levels, PwC is positioning itself as a destination for top engineering talent and reinforcing engineering as a growth engine for the firm and its clients.
