Firm Eyes Growth and Changing Workplace Model with Move of 200+ Employees
CINCINNATI, May 05, 2014 – PwC US today announced that the firm has made a major commitment to the Cincinnati region by signing a 10-year and eight month lease with Hines for 29,405 square feet of the PNC Center in the Central Business District. The firm will be the second largest tenant in the 27-story building upon move in, with prominent displays of the PwC brand.
“PwC has a longstanding history of serving companies in the greater Cincinnati area, and we’re looking forward to continuing that legacy,” said Sue McPartlin, managing partner for PwC Cincinnati. “We continue to see an increased demand for our assurance, tax and consulting services, and we’re optimistic about our future employment and the growth of our business here. We're proud to be joining the Central Business District and are excited to heighten PwC’s visibility in the area.”
PwC will relocate more than 200 employees into a modern and custom-designed workplace in September 2014. The design will be geared toward PwC’s highly mobile worker and will include a number of "touch down desks" to enhance team collaboration and aid in client service delivery. The space will also be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including the latest media sharing and collaboration tools.
“PwC is the largest professional services firm in the world and we continue to experience growth across all of our service lines. Our new presence in the Central Business District will put us within walking distance to many of our downtown clients and community partners,” said McPartlin. “This lease is also a testament to our continued commitment to the greater Cincinnati community. We are eager to carry on our work with local schools and non-profit organizations, donating extensive volunteer hours to help the youth of Cincinnati through our financial literacy initiatives.”
The firm is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and will have the new space built with energy efficiency in mind. Sustainable materials and furnishings will be utilized throughout the space and PwC will strive for LEED certification when the build-out is complete.
As another sign of how PwC is responding to today's modern worker, employees will have access to walking workstations to promote a healthy lifestyle and interactive cafes with lounge areas and 70'' video systems to provide an area for social gatherings and team meetings.
The 27-story PNC Center offers PwC a number of significant benefits, including increased security, vast food and beverage options, including a coffee shop, several restaurants, a pharmacy and a convenience store, as well as banking all within the building itself. The Center also sits just two blocks from Fountain Square and during inclement weather, provides easy access to nearby restaurants via the skywalk.
In selecting the PNC Center, the firm studied traffic and commuting options, including access to and from Northern Kentucky and the West Side of Cincinnati, taking into consideration where the firm’s people live and where clients are located, as well as the many advantages and benefits the building offers.
