NEW YORK, January 16, 2013 – For the ninth consecutive year, PwC US has been named one of FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work For." PwC ranks number #81 overall on this year's list, the 16th annual installment.
"We're extremely proud that FORTUNE has once again recognized PwC as one of the best companies to work for," said Bob Moritz, PwC U.S. chairman and senior partner. "We're committed to supporting a culture where people are engaged and excited about the opportunities around them -- whether it's creating value for the capital markets and the companies we serve; the ability to make a difference in the communities where we live and work; or the chance to continuously develop, personally and professionally."
“Over the past year, we've enhanced our flexibility programs to allow our people to better manage their personal and professional lives, delivered peak development experiences such as our Discover Senior Associate Leadership Program and continued to provide meaningful rewards for our staff," said Terri McClements, PwC's US Human Capital leader. "Being a part of FORTUNE's list for the ninth consecutive year is further validation that we're on the right path when it comes to connecting with, engaging and inspiring our people."
The activities, programs and initiatives supporting PwC's inclusion on the FORTUNE list include:
In 2013, the PwC continues to build on these accomplishments. For example, the firm recently introduced plan2flex, a team-based competition which is designed to reward leaders and staff who create – and deliver against – flexibility plans during the busiest times of the year.
In addition to FORTUNE, other organizations that have recognized PwC for its efforts to support partners and staff include Working Mother, DiversityInc, Training magazine, Brandon Hall Group and Universum. About the FORTUNE "100 Best Companies to Work For" List
To pick the 100 Best Companies to Work For, Fortune partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America: 259 firms participated in this year’s survey. More than 277,000 employees at those companies responded to a survey created by the institute, a global research and consulting firm operating in 45 countries around the world. Two-thirds of a company’s score is based on the results of the institute’s Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about management’s credibility, job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The other third is based on responses to the institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs, and diversity efforts. After evaluations are completed, if news about a company comes to light that may significantly damage employees’ faith in management, we may exclude it from the list. Any company that is at least five years old and has more than 1,000 U.S. employees is eligible. For more information on how to apply, visit: http://bit.ly/n8bVJ3
