Investor Daily - Skybridge Stasiun Bogor Paledang beroperasi tahun ini
7 October 2024
Jakarta, ID – The Railways Directorate General of the Ministry of Transportation, through the Class I Bandung Railways Engineering Office (BTP Bandung), is aiming to complete the construction of a skybridge at Bogor Paledang Station by the end of this year.
Endang Setiawan, Head of BTP Bandung, stated that to enhance integration, the Railways Directorate General is building a skybridge to link Bogor Paledang Station with Bogor Kota Station. "Our aim is to have the skybridge operational by 2024. We anticipate that the skybridge will improve passenger access," Endang said in his press statement, cited on Sunday (6/10/2024).
The government is allocating a total budget of Rp95 billion for the construction of the skybridge at Bogor Paledang Station. The 200-metre-long skybridge is being built to enhance the safety of railway passengers and operations.
In addition, Endang mentioned that the construction of the skybridge aims to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the area of the station. In the future, the skybridge at Bogor Paledang Station will provide space for MSMEs to sell their products.
“The skybridge will be directly connected to Taman Topi Square and Alun-alun Kota Bogor to support MSMEs around the station,” Endang added.
Over the last 10 years, the Railways Directorate General has completed the construction of double-track railways between Bogor Paledang and Cicurug, as well as the development and organisation of stations and safety enhancements along the Bogor-Sukabumi route, with a total budget of Rp2.2 trillion.
“The Railways Directorate General, through BTP Bandung, has constructed double-track railways with a total length of 26.6 km/sp. This project aims to enhance security and increase the number of railway trips,” he explained.
Endang added that during the construction of the double-track railways, the Railways Directorate General benefits locals by implementing the cash-for-work programme. This initiative is outlined in Transportation Minister Regulation Number PM 70 Year 2021.
“With the cash for work programme, we can empower and support the local economy,” he added.
“The stations along the Bogor-Sukabumi route are strategically located near tourist destinations. We hope that people planning holidays in the Bogor and Sukabumi areas will opt for rail-based transportation,” Endang continued.
Endang explained that the Railways Directorate General is prioritising the safety of road users as well as passengers by providing non-level crossings along the Bogor-Sukabumi route. This effort is supported by the construction of pedestrian bridges, underpasses, and overpasses.
Handover to Bogor Regency Government
Previously, the Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ) of the Ministry of Transportation handed over the Bojonggeede Skybridge, worth Rp18.6 billion, to the Bogor Regency Government to enhance intermodal connectivity in the region.
Acting Head of BPTJ at the Ministry of Transportation, Suharto, stated that the handover process had previously been approved by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
“We hope the Bogor Regency Government can optimise the management of this facility to provide maximum benefits to the people,” Suharto said in his statement.
Suharto stated that the Bojonggede Skybridge was designed to enhance intermodal integration in the Bojonggede area. It is now the full responsibility of the Bogor Regency Government to operate and optimise it.
“The handover also serves as concrete proof of the collaboration between BPTJ and the Bogor Regency Government to improve the quality of public transportation,” he added.
He also added that the Bojonggede Skybridge would facilitate the mobility of passengers between Commuter Line (KRL) stations and other modes of transportation. This is expected to encourage more people to use public transportation and help reduce congestion.
