Jakarta, investor.id – PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) is consistently innovating and delivering top-notch services to reinforce its status as the leading choice for container terminals in Indonesia. The company is also committed to enhancing efficiency and playing a larger role in supporting Indonesia’s economy.

“Despite new competitors entering the market, JICT remains confident in maintaining its position as the market leader in container handling in Indonesia, surpassing 40% [of the market],” stated PT JICT President Director Ade Hartono in his recent written statement.

JICT is also known for its efficient container port service, handling around 27-30 movements per hour for each ship. The 24-hour integrated port system enables JICT to serve 35-40 ships each week, significantly contributing to Indonesia's trade and commerce.

JICT is the largest and busiest container stevedoring service in Indonesia. The company operates at Tanjung Priok Port, which is strategically situated at the heart of North Jakarta's industrial area.

JICT is a joint venture between Hutchison Ports and Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero). It has a capacity of 39,884 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). JICT also employs the latest technologies to deliver top-quality services.

In addition to its economic contributions, JICT also benefits local residents by helping to reduce the stunting rate in North Jakarta. From 2023 to 2024, JICT achieved a 93% reduction in stunting in the area.

“We believe that focusing on early education and improving nutrition is foundational to creating a healthy and high-quality generation,” stated JICT Corporate Affairs Manager Indhira Gita.

Furthermore, Indhira mentioned that JICT has collaborated with at least ten early childhood education centres (PAUDs) in North Jakarta, which together have over 300 students.

“The programme demonstrates excellent synergy between the Government, the private sector, and the public to create a brighter future for our children,” Juaini stated.
