Bisnis, Jakarta – The Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry is holding a tender for Jragung Dam project in Central Java with a contract value of Rp2.72 trillion.

Based on the information from electronic procurement services quoted by Bisnis on Tuesday (15/10), Jragung Dam tender is divided into three packages. The owner’s estimate price of the first package starts at Rp995.06 billion. The owner’s estimate price for the second and third packages starts at Rp946.68 billion and Rp785.73 billion respectively.

Financing for Jragung Dam construction comes from the 2019 state budget. The dam is the second new dam to be tendered this year. The first dam is Tiu Suntuk Dam in West Nusa Tenggara.

Jragung Dam prequalification stage was announced on 11 October 2019. The winner will be announced on 11 December 2019, and the contract will be signed in five days after the winner announcement.

Based on the data from Dam Centre of PUPR Ministry, Jragung Dam is designed to accommodate 103 million cubic metres of water during normal condition and 135.43 million cubic metres during flood. The dam will be a source for irrigation of 6,435 hectares of agricultural land in Demak and its surroundings.

In Bisnis records, Jragug Dam is one of the 65 dams that are proposed to be built in 2015. Until 2018, 56 dams are in construction, while 15 dams are finished.

Capacity

PUPR Ministry General Secretary Anita Firmanti said that new dam constructions and improvement on existing dams were needed to improve the water capacity that had only reached 14 million cubic metres per year. That capacity can only provide water for 11% of the total 7 million hectares of irrigation fields.

Tiu Suntuk Dam construction in West Nusa Tenggara that is worth Rp1.35 trillion will be the first new dam tendered in 2019. Based on the info from electronic procurement services, the tender of Tiu Suntuk Dam is divided into two packages, namely packages 1 and 2 with an owner’s estimate price of Rp704.17 billion and Rp646.9 billion respectively.

The prequalification stage of Tiu Suntuk Dam tender has been announced on 23 September 2019. The current stage is the qualification document submission stage. Based on the schedule, the winner is scheduled to be announced in December 2019, then the contract will also be signed in December 2019.

The dam is designed to have a capacity of 25 million cubic metres. The project will be the sixth dam project, after Bintang Bano Dam, Tanju Dam, Mila Dam, Meninting Dam, and Beringin Sila Dam.

Besides that, the PUPR Ministry is also holding a tender for Ladongi Dam package 2 in Southeast Sulawesi with a contract value of Rp283 billion.

Based on information from the electronic procurement services, the prequalification stage has been announced on 25 September 2019. Currently, the tender is in the qualification document evaluation stage.

The winner is scheduled to be announced on 28 November 2019. Then, the contract will be signed on 10 December 2019.

Construction of the first package of Ladongi Dam has reached 76% in September 2019. The first package is constructed by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) that has won the tender with an offer of Rp844.17 billion. The financing for this dam comes from the 2016 state budget.

Water Resources Director General Hari Suprayogi said that Ladongi Dam could accommodate up to 45 million cubic metres of water. The dam will be a water source for 2,212 hectares of existing irrigation area and 1,392 hectares of developing irrigation area.

Program for the construction of 65 dams that will be completed in 2023 is expected to add to the supply of water for agricultural land irrigation to be around 19% to 20%. The new dams also have a potential to provide raw water, energy, flood control, and tourism that will boost local economy.
