Kontan.co.id – Jakarta. The Committee for Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Delivery (KPPIP) reported the completion of 77 National Strategic Projects (PSN) until the end of May 2019.

The list of PSNs was initially set out through the Presidential Decree (Perpres) No. 3 of 2016 with a total of 225 projects and a program. The government then revised the decree in 2017 with Perpres No. 58 of 2017 that covered 245 projects and 2 programs.

Lastly, the decree was revised again by Perpres No. 56 of 2018 with a total of 223 projects and 3 programs.

Deputy for Coordination of Infrastructure Acceleration and Regional Development in the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Wahyu Utomo explained, as many as 77 PSNs had been completed. Meanwhile, 26 projects, an electricity project, and an economic equality program were under construction and had started operation.

As many as 35 projects are under construction and will begin operation in 2019. There are also 65 under-construction projects also which are predicted to be operational after 2019.

Eight projects are in the dealing stage, with 42 projects and an aviation industry program under preparation. “In 2019 there are no new PSN addition in accordance with the decision of Mr. Menko Darmin as the Head of Direction Team of KPPIP. However, we prioritise achieving a few milestones that we can expect to finish by the end of 2019,” said Wahyu also acting as the Head of Implementing Team of KPPIP in a press conference on PSN Achievement, Monday (27/5) evening.

Wahyu added, the government had begun to shift focus to human resources capacity this year in order to complement massive infrastructure constructions. This does not mean the infrastructure construction will stop because it is still important to be continued until it is finished and starts operation.

“Because infrastructure construction will not be complete without human resources. The construction and development of industrial and tourism areas, for example, need the human resources’ capacity to manage them well,” Wahyu stated.

KPPIP has estimated, in the third quarter of 2019 there will be a total of 89 PSNs that are completed alongside 33 projects and 2 programs being operational. Also with 106 projects and an aviation industry program under construction.

Until December 2019, it is expected that there will be seven extra projects that will be finished entirely. Hence, accumulatively at the end of the year there will be 96 projects operating as a whole.
