Investor Daily - Kementerian PU dan TNI sinergi bangun infrastruktur
5 March 2025,
The Ministry of Public Works (PU) and the Indonesian National Army (TNI AD) are enhancing their collaboration in the development and maintenance of strategic infrastructure across various regions of Indonesia.
This collaboration is highlighted by the drafting of an agreement between the two parties within the framework of the TNI AD's flagship programmes. Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, stated that the primary objective of this cooperation is to accelerate infrastructure development, particularly in underdeveloped, border, and disaster-prone areas.
"This collaboration will enhance the quality of national infrastructure, particularly in the provision of clean water, road maintenance, and the development of sanitation systems in rural areas," said Dody in Jakarta on Tuesday (04/03/2025).
Before drafting this cooperation agreement, the Ministry of Public Works and the TNI AD held several coordination meetings. From these meetings, the concept of the cooperation agreement was developed and is now ready to be signed by the relevant parties.
"In the drafted agreement, several main sectors are the focus of the cooperation. These include the water resources sector, which encompasses the cleaning, maintenance, and restoration of rivers, lakes, reservoirs, ponds, and coasts; the provision of raw water through groundwater wells; the strengthening of the Binter programme for the regulation of fish cages and illegal buildings in water bodies; and the improvement of agricultural irrigation systems," explained Dody.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works, Mohammad Zainal Fatah, added that this cross-sector collaboration will continue to be strengthened to ensure the cooperation is implemented as planned and delivers tangible benefits to the community.
"This cooperation not only accelerates infrastructure development but also enhances the welfare of the community, particularly in underdeveloped and disaster-prone areas," he said.
The Ministry of Public Works and the TNI AD aim to create higher quality infrastructure and deliver positive impacts for the Indonesian community in the long term.
