Kontan.co.id. – Jakarta. Bank lending to the infrastructure sector continues to grow. The infrastructure sector is one of the national strategic programmes of the Prabowo-Gibran administration.

According to the HSBC Global Private Banking (HSBC GPB) report, Indonesia's economy in 2025 is predicted to benefit from a combination of infrastructure development, export diversification and strong domestic consumption. Sustainable government policies are a key factor.

The fiscal deficit is projected to remain below 3% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), allowing the Government to maintain infrastructure and social welfare spending.

Several banks have recorded an increase in lending. For example, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) disbursed infrastructure loans in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) 38 of 2015, amounting to Rp375.88 trillion until February 2025.

This value grew by 24.1% year on year (YoY) from the same period last year.

The financing was distributed to various sub-sectors such as roads, transportation, oil and gas and renewable energy, electricity, telematics, public housing and urban facilities, and construction.

These loans include the construction of toll roads, airports, ports and railway lines that have been utilised by the public.

Corporate Secretary of Bank Mandiri, M. Ashidiq Iswara, said that as a development agent, Bank Mandiri consistently targets infrastructure lending to accelerate equitable economic development.

"This effort is in line with President Prabowo's third Asta Cita in continuing infrastructure development," said Ossy, as he is commonly known, to kontan.co.id, Monday (14/4).

According to him, this is a form of Bank Mandiri's commitment to consistently being one of the supporters of strengthening national infrastructure.

Similarly, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) recorded that until December 2024, BCA had disbursed construction loans (including infrastructure) amounting to Rp39 trillion, growing by 11.5% YoY.

Hera F. Haryn, EVP Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility at BCA, stated that in principle, BCA is committed to supporting the development of various sectors, including infrastructure, by prudently disbursing loans.

"BCA consistently encourages lending in various potential sectors, considering prudential principles in line with domestic and global macroeconomic dynamics," said Hera.

Furthermore, Hera said that BCA will continue to maintain a balance between liquidity adequacy and healthy credit expansion, while considering market conditions and risks.

"The trend of lending generally aligns with economic conditions. In line with Indonesia's positive economic prospects, we are optimistic about maintaining profitability growth going forward," she concluded.
