Kontan.co.id – Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Public Works, Diana Kusumastuti, welcomed a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by ADB Country Director Jiro Tominaga at the Ministry of Public Works office on Monday (13/1/2025).

The meeting focused on exploring cooperation opportunities between the Public Works Ministry and ADBfor implementing the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme in financing infrastructure development. This initiative aims to support President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita programme.

Diana expressed her appreciation for the ongoing collaboration between the Public Works Ministry and ADB in advancing infrastructure development in Indonesia.

In addition to reviewing current ADB projects, the meeting is anticipated to explore new collaboration opportunities between Indonesia and ADB. These potential partnerships aim to support Indonesia's national development agenda and the Asta Cita programme.

Diana stated on Monday (13/1), "Our focus is particularly on infrastructure within the Public Works Ministry that supports food, energy, and water security, as well as downstream infrastructure development."

ADB is one of the key international partners collaborating with the Public Works Ministry to finance infrastructure development projects.

The Public Works Ministry and ADB have previously collaborated on infrastructure projects in sectors such as roads and bridges, drinking water provision, sanitation, and irrigation modernisation through the PPP scheme. Notable projects include the City-wide Inclusive Sanitation initiatives in Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara), Pontianak (West Kalimantan), and Semarang (Central Java).

ADB Country Director Jiro Tominaga highlighted ongoing and upcoming collaborations with ADB, such as the irrigation modernisation project and the Flood Management in Priority River Basins project, each valued at US$500 million.

Jiro Tominaga acknowledged that infrastructure development is a key priority for ADB in Indonesia. "Today's meeting aims to enhance and broaden the cooperation between Indonesia and ADB," he stated.
