Investor Daily - Dukung jalur logistik, ASDP layani 210 lintasan perintis

9 June 2025

As a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) with a strategic role in connecting Indonesia’s archipelago, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) operates more than 250 vessels and serves over 300 ferry routes under the management of 27 branches across the country, supporting national logistics pathways.

In 3T areas (Frontier, Remote, and Underdeveloped regions), 210 pioneering routes have opened transportation access to previously hard-to-reach areas. As local economic activity grows, several of these routes have developed into sustainable commercial services.

ASDP Corporate Secretary, Shelvy Arifin, emphasised that business sustainability is not solely determined by operational performance but also by the strength of its social contributions to surrounding communities.

"That’s why programmes like ASDP Berbagi serve as a concrete representation of SOE’s presence among the people, particularly in fostering a decent and healthy quality of life," Shelvy stated in a press release in Jakarta on Monday (8/6/2025).

This initiative aligns with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies, which focus on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ASDP strategically directs its activities toward addressing issues such as poverty, hunger, and health, ensuring long-term impacts that meet fundamental community needs.

Furthermore, ASDP consistently strengthens its inclusive approach in designing and implementing CSR programmes, positioning communities as both partners and primary beneficiaries. Amid the ongoing social and economic challenges across many operational regions, the company places empathy and social responsibility at the core of building productive and healthy relationships with local communities.

"ASDP believes that small, consistent actions can lead to significant impacts on the future. Beyond strengthening inter-island connectivity through ferry services, we want to ensure that ASDP’s presence contributes tangibly to improving societal welfare in a sustainable manner," Shelvy added.

Distributing aid

In the spirit of giving and sustainable social responsibility, ASDP reaffirmed its commitment through the ASDP Berbagi programme during Eid Adha 1446 H celebrations. This year, ASDP distributed 20 cows and 100 goats for qurbani (sacrificial offering) to communities near its operational areas. This initiative directly contributes to achieving SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

Shelvy explained that this initiative reflects the company’s gratitude for its blessings while reinforcing corporate social responsibility to create positive community impacts.

"Alhamdulillah, ASDP once again has the opportunity to give back and be present among the people. Through this qurbani distribution, we hope to bring not only joy during the holiday but also meaningful contributions to improving the quality of life in ASDP’s operational regions," Shelvy remarked.

The programme reached all ASDP operational branches nationwide, including Region 31, which plays an integral role in ASDP’s ferry services. At the central level, the qurbani slaughter was conducted at ASDP Headquarters in Cempaka Putih, Jakarta. More than 700 meat packages were distributed to nearby communities, including RW 2 Cempaka Putih, Cempaka Putih Prison, Cikoneng residents, RT Kalideres, and Koramil Cempaka Putih personnel.

"This annual moment serves not only as an act of worship and gratitude but also as an opportunity for collaboration between management and employees in instilling humanitarian values. ASDP employees, known as Ferizyan, actively and voluntarily participated in all activities—from the slaughtering process to distributing qurbani meat," she concluded.
