Jakarta, 3 July 2026 — PwC South East Asia Consulting (SEAC) today announces that Martijn Peeters will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 July 2026, succeeding Simon Gealy, who will step down from his role after six years.

The transition is part of a planned succession, reflecting PwC SEAC's focus on continuity and growth across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

As organisations across Southeast Asia accelerate investment in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital capabilities, focus is shifting firmly towards measurable business outcomes. Under Martijn’s leadership, PwC SEAC will seek to lead large-scale transformation programmes that drive cost efficiency, enable sustainable revenue growth, and embed technology and AI at the core of enterprise operations.

Martijn Peeters, incoming CEO of PwC South East Asia Consulting, says, “Southeast Asia is entering a decisive phase of growth, shaped by rapid technological advancement and shifting economic dynamics. Organisations that move with clarity and pace will define the next generation of market leaders. Our focus is on delivering transformation at scale, bringing together strategy, technology and AI to fundamentally improve how businesses perform, compete and grow.”

Martijn brings more than 25 years of experience in consulting and transformation, advising multinationals and national champions on revenue growth, operating models, organisational efficiency, and enterprise-wide change leveraging technology and AI. He currently serves as Consulting Leader for PwC Indonesia, as well as Leader of the Strategy & Operations practice for Southeast Asia — roles which he has driven significant growth in the consulting business.

He has previously held leadership roles as Consulting Leader at the former PwC Russia and Retail and Consumer Leader for PwC Eastern Europe. Martijn has led complex transformation programmes across various markets and industries driving tangible outcomes.

Khoon Yean Soo Hoo, Chairman of the Board, PwC SEAC says, “The Board is delighted to appoint Martijn as CEO at an important juncture for our business, building on the strong foundation established over the past years. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Simon for his leadership and commitment throughout his tenure. We are confident that under Martijn’s leadership, he will steer the business forward, deepen collaboration across the region and continue to enhance the impact we deliver to our clients and stakeholders.”

Simon steps down after leading PwC SEAC through a period of rapid change and strengthened regional collaboration, leaving a strong foundation for the firm’s next phase.

Simon Gealy says, “It has been a privilege to lead our South East Asia Consulting business over the past six years. Together, we have built an integrated consulting practice, grounded in shared values and commitment to our clients and people. Martijn brings deep experience and I am confident he will continue to advance the business.”

Looking ahead, PwC SEAC will continue to expand its capabilities across Southeast Asia, strengthening its position as a leading transformation partner to the region's most dynamic organisations. The firm will focus on integrating AI into enterprise transformation — spanning workforce, operations, finance, cloud, and cyber security — with an emphasis on sustained, measurable outcomes.

This transition comes at a pivotal moment, as Southeast Asian economies transform rapidly amid accelerating digital adoption, shifting supply chains, and evolving market dynamics. PwC SEAC remains committed to helping organisations reimagine their business models and lead with confidence through technology-enabled transformation.
