
Investors continue to prioritise climate action despite lacking trusted information
PwC’s 2022 Global Investor Survey paints a picture of investors juggling multiple priorities with limited information.
LONDON, 1 March 2023 – PwC appoints Jaya VaidhyanathanOpens in a new window as an external director to its global board, the body responsible for the governance of PricewaterhouseCoopers International (PwCIL) and the PwC network, oversight of PwC’s network leadership team, and approval of the standards by which each PwC firm must abide.
From 23 January 2023, Jaya has worked with the existing board members who are made up of partners and principals from 13 PwC firms from across the world.
Jaya is one of two external directors on the Global Board, and one of two independent directors on the PwC India Board. Jaya brings extensive experience working with leading financial services firms and technology companies. She is the CEO of BCT Digital, a global technology company specialising in innovation in predictive analytics, AI and the internet-of-things (IOT). She is a former Partner at Accenture, Executive Vice President of Standard Chartered Bank, Director at HCL, and has served as an Independent Director of Altran Group and Mahindra Group. She currently serves as an Independent Board Director of UTI Asset Management. Jaya holds an MBA from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Madras University.

Global Board: The boardOpens in a new window of PwCIL comprises 20 members who are responsible for the governance of PwCIL and the PwC network, oversight of the Network Leadership Team, and approval of network standards. With the exception of two external directors, the other 18 elected members are full-time partners of PwC member firms from around the world who don’t belong to the senior leadership teams of those firms. Global M&A activity will likely rise in the second half of 2023 as investors and executives look to balance short-term risks with their long-term business transformation strategies, according to PwC’s 2023 Global M&A Industry Trends Outlook.
Nearly three quarters (73%) of CEOs believe global economic growth will decline over the next 12 months, according to PwC’s 26th Annual Global CEO Survey, which polled 4,410 CEOs in 105 countries and territories in October and November 2022.
