Simplify the complexities

Organisations are increasingly complex, with businesses in multiple territories having to navigate interactions amongst stakeholders, workers crossing borders and the myriad of different country and regional legislation and taxation regimes.

Added to this are new business models and an increasingly non-traditional workforce mix, bringing together employees and a vast array of different contractual arrangements, ‘gig’ talent and other contingent workers.

All of this means the difficulty and risk associated with workers continues to rise dramatically and businesses need an adviser that can meet all their employment and payroll needs.

PwC’s network of employment tax and payroll professionals globally has extensive knowledge to navigate the various challenges of meeting employment tax obligations, but also proactively managing employment tax costs.

Diverse Business Team In The Office

Businesses need to ensure that they understand and are managing:

  • The accurate classification of workers and the correct payment thereof.
  • Robust governance around employment tax and payroll systems and processes, including effective controls around the use of automation, including AI.
  • The tax and social security risks that their reward policies and working practices may be creating.
  • Which countries those risks are arising in and where they are greatest.
  • The impact of current and impending legislative changes.
  • The extent to which they are impacted by social legislative requirements.
  • The operational effectiveness of their payroll function and the extent to which they can get valuable business insights from the analytics and reporting capabilities it can provide.

Our Employment Tax and Payroll practice has vast experience to support businesses on all of these points, share insights and deliver optimal outcomes for your organisation.
