Security is just one of several barriers to cloud adoption

Data and systems integration, IT governance, and a host of other issues weigh heavily on the minds of executives considering a shift to cloud-based computing infrastructure, according to the 476 respondents to this question in the PwC IT Outsourcing and Cloud Computing Survey. While security gets most attention, other concerns are widespread. "Compliance and data sovereignty issues are real," says a traditional IT outsourcing provider, "they're not just perceived. A lot of cloud providers are not able to guarantee where a particular client’s data is going to reside and to prove that for governmental audit purposes."
