Jakarta, ID – The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) has announced that, as of April 2025, ongoing investments in Nusantara Capital City (IKN) have reached Rp62.08 trillion, contributed by 42 companies.

OIKN Head, Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that the number of investors committing funds to the new capital, which spans parts of North Penajam Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency in East Kalimantan, continues to grow.

"On Wednesday, 21 May 2025, the investment figure increased with the arrival of six new companies. We sincerely appreciate the attention and trust of all investors who have chosen to invest in IKN," Basuki said in a press release quoted in Jakarta on Thursday (22/5/2025).

The six private companies signing cooperation agreements to invest in IKN have a combined investment value of Rp3.65 trillion. The signing ceremony took place on Wednesday (21/5) at OIKN’s office, which has been operational for three months in Nusantara.

These companies represent various sectors, including culinary, hospitality, education, retail, construction, and commercial and residential property development.

In the culinary sector, PT Solusi Harapan Nusantara, known for brands such as Bakoel Bamboe and Katta Coffee & Kitchen, will develop a culinary centre spanning 1,800 square metres.

Meanwhile, PT Makmur Berkah Hotel (MBH), a subsidiary of publicly listed PT Makmur Berkah Amanda Tbk—known for managing international hotels such as Element by Westin and Four Points by Sheraton—will establish a five-star hotel under the Marriott International network on a 2.04-hectare plot.

In the education sector, PT Australia Independent School (AIS) Nusantara, with over 28 years of experience in managing international-standard schools in Jakarta and Bali, will build a school for 750 students following the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. The school will cover a land area of 7,900 square metres, with a planned building area of 10,000 square metres.

In modern retail, PT Maxi Nusantara Raya, a leading local retailer in East Kalimantan operating supermarket chains such as Maxi Swalayan and Maxi Lux, will establish a modern supermarket with a food and beverage area on a 0.21-hectare plot.

Additionally, two national construction companies will participate in the development of commercial and residential spaces. PT Kreasibeton Nusapersada, a Medan-based company with a portfolio of iconic projects such as JW Marriott Hotel Medan and the Medan-Kualanamu Toll Road, will develop apartments, private office spaces, and a supermarket on a 9,342-square-metre plot.

Meanwhile, PT Daya Mulia Turangga, which has been involved in road, bridge, and commercial building construction across Indonesia for over 35 years, will construct office and commercial areas on a 2.88-hectare site.

On this occasion, Basuki also emphasised that OIKN is awaiting the announcement of tenders for road construction projects that will support accessibility within the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

"This May, we are awaiting the tender announcement. If there are no objections, we can sign contracts to develop roads and facilities that will serve investors. After that, we will proceed with tenders for the legislative and judicial sectors," Basuki explained.

"You used to meet me as a minister, but now you meet me as a marketing officer. Whatever you need, our team will assist you. We are not selling land; we want investments to come here," he concluded.

OIKN Deputy for Funding and Investment, Agung Wicaksono, reinforced OIKN’s active role in accelerating investment realisation. "As the Head of OIKN plays the role of 'Marketing,' today we immediately see the results, with investors signing agreements. This demonstrates the growing interest in investment opportunities at IKN," Agung stated.

In closing, Agung expressed optimism that this collaboration would yield long-term positive impacts. "OIKN is confident that this cooperation will make a significant contribution to Nusantara’s sustainable development while opening up numerous opportunities for businesses and the community," he concluded.
