LONDON, 14 April, 2026 – PwC announced it has completed a planned leadership transition, with Alison Statham assuming the role of Global General Counsel of the PwC network, effective 1 April, 2026. She succeeds Diana Weiss, who will retire from the firm on 30 June in line with PwC’s partner retirement framework.
The transition follows a structured succession process and includes a period of handover to ensure continuity in leadership of the global legal function.
The Global General Counsel leads international teams supporting the PwC network across a wide range of areas, including ethics, compliance, regulatory matters, litigation, investigations, governance, corporate and technology transactions, data, intellectual property and commercial contracting.
“I’m honoured to take on the role of Global General Counsel. PwC’s commitment to quality, integrity and strong governance has never been more critical as we help clients navigate risk in an increasingly complex business environment,” said Statham. “I look forward to building on the strong foundation Diana has established—continuing to support the business, uphold our values and enable the firm’s strategy with confidence and clarity.”
Statham brings extensive experience in legal, risk and governance matters. She most recently served as Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel for PwC UK and has been a member of the UK Management Board since July 2020. Prior to that, she served as Deputy General Counsel from 2015. She originally qualified as a solicitor at Linklaters and worked in private practice, specialising in commercial litigation with an emphasis on professional services.
Weiss joined PwC in 2012 as the PwC US General Counsel and has served as the Global General Counsel since 2016. As Global General Counsel, Diana led PwC’s Global Legal function with a focus on excellence in client service, promoting an ethical culture aligned with PwC’s Purpose and Values, enhancing governance, and enabling the firm’s strategy. The PwC network is grateful for her distinctive leadership throughout a period of significant change for PwC and for the profession.
