June 07, 2022

PwC has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Intelligent Automation Services 2022 Vendor Assessment (May 2022, IDC #US48061422).

According to the report, “Intelligent automation solutions have shown great potential for not only reducing costs but improving outcomes for buyers in areas such as operational efficiency, employee productivity, resiliency, customer satisfaction, nonlinear revenue growth, and business model innovation. However, buyers also face challenges in adopting intelligent automation solutions, such as data quality and management issues, lack of support and maintenance resources, insufficient skills or willingness on the part of employees to use intelligent automation technologies, and unclear use cases or business benefits. Services providers play a key role in supplying technical skills and expertise in strategy, architecture, process optimization, and change management to help buyers navigate these challenges and ensure intelligent automation solutions deliver business value and ROI.”

The author of this IDC MarketScape report, Jennifer Hamel, says that: “The top-rated vendor attribute, in aggregate, was "ability to provide solutions using our preferred intelligent automation technology providers." This aligns with IDC's evaluation of the breadth of technology alliances as the top area of strength across all intelligent automation services vendors.”

The IDC MarketScape report states that, “PwC assists clients in their automation journeys from strategy through execution through its global Intelligent Automation practice, and the firm also provides ready-to-deploy integrated solutions for a variety of functional domains and industry vertical.”

It goes on to say, “PwC's Digital Upskilling and Enterprise Automation solutions incorporates the firm's internal experiences deploying intelligent automation with its products and partnerships to help clients achieve business impact.”

Commenting on PwC’s strengths, the report states that, “Buyers rated PwC highly for its ability to achieve desired business outcomes; provide solutions using their preferred intelligent automation technology providers; integrate PwC's team with their internal team; deliver across the life cycle of intelligent automation services; communicate the value of the services, solutions, methodologies, and tools they are currently consuming; and provide high-quality interpersonal skills. IDC considers PwC's breadth of technology alliances and strategies around infusing enterprise intelligence in delivery, internal innovation and R&D, IP monetization, and employee retention as key strengths.”
