PwC rated as a Leader in Global Cybersecurity Consulting Providers by Independent Research Firm

November 04, 2021

‘PwC surpasses its peers with platforms and board-relevant services.’

PwC announced that it was cited as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Global Cybersecurity Consulting Providers, Q4, 2021.

In the report, Forrester notes that ‘chief information security officer’s (CISOs) need help streamlining time-consuming tactical activities. Over the past 18 months of “work from anywhere” and market disruption, CISOs tasked their consulting firms with overhauling the tactical activities their teams spent far too much time on. The hope was to create time and free up personnel to redirect their efforts to the organization’s higher-level priorities. Finding that space became necessary as the board and other C-level execs began to request more and more of the CISO’s calendar as ransomware and product security became front and center in late 2020 through 2021.

‘…Global cybersecurity consulting customers should look for providers that:

  • Develop unique intellectual property to scale delivery on a truly global basis…
  • Help CISOs articulate how tactical transformation leads to strategic victory…
  • Seek to avoid an unhealthy level of codependence through knowledge and skills transfer.’

Commenting on PwC, the report states that: ‘PwC surpasses its peers with platforms and board-relevant services. PwC recognized that cybersecurity consulting firms needed to productize engagements by building platforms before its competitors, and it hasn’t lost the lead it established early on. And while competitors have closed the gap, PwC still stands out with its unique intellectual property and the pricing flexibility this creates for clients.’

It further notes that: ‘PwC stands out when it comes to capturing mindshare with C-level stakeholders, primarily due to its cyber risk quantification capabilities and engagements that help CISOs demonstrate how they secure their company’s customers through fraud prevention and customer identity and access management improvements.’ ’

Sean Joyce, Partner and Cybersecurity, Risk and Regulatory Global leader, says, ‘Organisations know that risks are increasing. According to our clients, more than 50% expect a surge in reportable incidents next year above 2021 levels.  As the lines between nation states and criminal groups become blurred  it becomes increasingly important to focus on resiliency. On behalf of PwC, we are extremely proud to serve the cyber, risk and regulatory needs of our clients in this environment, and to receive this recognition from Forrester Research.’
