What personal data do we collect?
When you apply for a role with us, we will collect your personal data to process that application and manage the recruitment process. The personal data we collect will typically include:
- personal details (e.g. name, age/date of birth, gender, marital status, country of residence);
- contact details (e.g. email address, contact number, postal address);
- CV details (e.g. employment history, education, academic and professional qualifications);
- information provided as part of interviews and assessments;
- diversity and equal opportunities details (which may include special category data such as health or religious information);
- referee and pre-screening details;
- right to work (citizenship, passport details, visa or other immigration information); and
- criminal record (if applicable to the role you have applied for).
Where applicable we will collect special categories of personal data (for disability information to enable us to make reasonable adjustments for the interview process, criminal record checks, or immigration/right to work information).
Personal data will be collected either from you directly, recruitment agencies, third parties (such as companies assisting with screening/background checks), or from publicly available sources (such as professional networking or job websites). We will only ask for personal data that is necessary for the role you apply for and request that you do not provide anything in addition to what is necessary.
How do we use your personal data?
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- to attract and source talent
We not only advertise our job opportunities but also look for appropriate candidates at events we host or attend, through recruiters or through searching existing talent pools on publicly available sources (such as social media and job websites of which you are a member). We will use your personal data to communicate with you as well as keeping a record of roles you are suitable for.
- to make reasonable adjustments during the application and interview process (if applicable)
Where you have told us that you need reasonable adjustments (such as accessibility or alternative formats) we will use your personal data, including any special category personal data, to make those reasonable adjustments.
- to process applications for roles at PwC, manage the interview process and evaluate your eligibility for the role
When you apply for a role at PwC we will use your personal data to assess whether you are suitable for that role. During the recruitment process we will manage your candidate profile, send you communications about the process and your progress, request additional information (if necessary), get to know you during the interview process and determine whether to offer you the role.
- to conduct onboarding procedures, including pre-employment checks (if applicable)
If you are successful, we will use your personal data to carry out background and pre-employment checks including checking you have the necessary qualifications, confirming you are eligible to work in the role you have applied for and performing criminal records checks. Depending on the role you have applied for we may need to collect additional information either about you or your family members. Due to the nature of our business, we are often under a legal or regulatory obligation to carry out these checks and follow specific onboarding procedures.
- for feedback and analytics purposes
We will use your personal data to understand our recruitment process, create reports and make improvements where possible. This could include analysing candidate sourcing channels, candidate demographics and reviewing feedback on the recruitment process.
How long will we keep your personal data?
If you are successful in your application, we will keep a copy of your personal data as part of your employee record and your talent pool account (if you opt to join our talent pool).
If your application is unsuccessful, we will retain and use the information you provided to PwC for a reasonable period to address any matters related to your application, contact you about other employment opportunities, fulfil legitimate business purposes (such as avoiding duplicate contacts for the same role), to exercise and defend our legal rights and for as long as you remain in our talent pool (should you choose to join).
