Kelly Barnes is a leading force behind PwC’s point of view on the unprecedented change in the health industry. Kelly guides our team of consultants representing the health industry across the payer, provider, government, pharmaceutical, and life sciences sectors.
As global leader of Health Industries consulting and one of the first women named to the U.S. Leadership Team, Kelly is the embodiment of embracing change and leading with it. She has played a decisive role in the strategic direction of PwC’s Health Industries practice. She established PwC’s Health Research Institute, a highly regarded information and trend resource in the health industry. She also leads initiatives regarding public/private collaboration to create greater value in the health system and to help shape the dialogue around the future of health.
Revising the Health Industries strategy to accommodate the impact of what PwC coins the “new health economy,” Kelly has spearheaded the transfer of PwC’s health expertise to new clients and industry sectors.
Aside from her professional achievements, Kelly is a nationally recognised speaker on topics ranging from the future of the U.S. health system to strategic and financial planning as well as business transformation. Among her professional accomplishments is service with Healthcare Business Women’s Association, University of Arkansas Women’s Giving Circle as well as a Tocqueville Member of United Way. In Dallas, Kelly is active in the International Women’s Forum (IWF), the Leadership Dallas Alumni Association, recently named one of the 500 most powerful business leaders in Dallas/Ft Worth and supports local educational efforts at various elementary schools that focus on the arts and underfunded programs.
Kelly earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from the University of Arkansas.
