The research report states: “PwC sees AI as a revolutionary technology that will transform individuals, companies, industries, and social infrastructure. Its AI strategy is being deployed globally, and it will promote a system for mutual utilization of assets developed in each region through its ‘Network AI Factory.’ In Japan, its key areas of focus are the advancement of AI services for key industries, the transformation of industrial architecture, the formulation of standards through alliance strategies and collaboration between industry, government, and academia, and self-disruption (radical reform of its own services).”

PwC’s AI services are offered as professional services across all areas of the PwC Japan Group, from audit and assurance to risk, consulting, deal advisory, and tax and legal services. These services are not led by a specific department dedicated to “AI,” but rather by a cross-functional AI initiative composed of representatives from each department. PwC’s AI service capabilities are supported by extensive implementation experience and deep business knowledge gained through a wide range of professional services. The group as a whole has several hundred dedicated AI service professionals.

The strengths of PwC, as highlighted by IDC MarketScape, are as follows:

  • Comprehensive professional services providing end-to-end support, from AI strategy to implementation.
  • Advanced expertise in governance and risk management.
  • Ability to build ecosystems that support the transformation of industrial structures.
  • Utilization of the latest global assets through the Network AI Factory* and provision of localized and optimized services for domestic companies.
*An organization within the PwC global network that works to promote AI utilization and enhance development capabilities. It has 50 locations globally.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized as a leader in IDC Japan’s evaluation of AI services in Japan. “As the social implementation of AI-related technologies, such as AI agents, progresses further, the overall structure of industries and individual economic activities is expected to change significantly. Companies will be compelled to transform not only their operational processes but also their organizational structures and business models, and to create new value. PwC Japan Group focuses on identifying these changes in industrial structure and supporting our clients in their rapid transformation. Leveraging our strengths in current technologies including AI, industry expertise, governance and regulatory frameworks, and robust ecosystem building capabilities including industry-government-academia collaboration, we provide comprehensive support from strategy to execution, driving our clients’ transformation and supporting sustainable growth in response to changes in the business environment.”
