Michael Dobner is a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Consulting & Deals Group. Michael has approximately 30 years experience in litigation support and business valuation. He is also acting as the National Leader of the Licensing Management practice for PwC Canada.
Michael has been qualified as an expert in court and other quasi-judicial bodies regarding a large variety of commercial disputes. He has served as an arbitrator in cases involving disputes over purchase price and valuation. He also served as a financial advisor to high profile commissions set by provincial governments in Canada. In addition to Canada, Michael has practiced internationally in Europe Latin America, the U.S. and the Middle East. He has substantial experience in working with mining and other resource based companies around the globe and has been retained as a valuation expert and advisor by some of the largest international mining companies.
Michael earned a BA in Management and Economics in 1984 and an MBA in 1986 from Tel Aviv University, Israel. He obtained his Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation in 1991 and Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation in 1992.
Michael has been invited to speak in numerous events . In the last several years, Michael has been a regular guest lecturer in the graduate programs of Osgoode School of Law and the Business School of York University. In addition, Michael has written articles for the US Business Valuation Review magazine, The Lawyers Weekly and the Journal of Business Valuation, a publication of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business on the subject of valuation, loss quantification and Intellectual Property.
