Khurram Asghar is a partner in the Audit and Assurance Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working in the Calgary office.
Khurram provides audit and assurance services to a number of large- and medium-sized Canadian and international clients in the oil and gas and utilities sectors. His experience centres on assisting both public and private clients with technical accounting and financial reporting issues.
Khurram is passionate about service and delivering value to clients, with a significant focus on continuous communication. He is committed to establishing trusted business advisor relationships and works hard to understand industry trends and issues affecting his clients.
Khurram is a member of the PricewaterhouseCoopers National IFRS Champions group and is currently involved in various IFRS transition projects. In addition to dealing with technical accounting issues, he also works closely with clients to identify the impact of the IFRS transition.
Khurram joined PwC’s Calgary office in 2004, prior to which he was with PwC Dubai and PwC Pakistan. Khurram is a Canadian CA, CPA (Colorado, Washington) and CA from Pakistan. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and also been an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan since 2001.
Khurram has been featured as a guest speaker at a variety of technical conferences including those sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), speaking primarily on IFRS-related technical matters. He has also been involved with Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) relative to their initiatives to assist their members in responding to the new IFRS requirements.
