Tama Group, a global leader in agricultural packaging and netting solutions, started as a kibbutz-based manufacturing operation in Israel and has expanded into a multinational organization with over 10 production sites, operations in multiple countries, and a complex global supplier and customer network. As the company grew—expanding business units, users, products, and markets—its legacy ERP environment became a constrain rather than an enabler of growth.
To support continued expansion, enhance resilience amid geopolitical and market changes, and meet rising customer demands for speed and transparency, Tama teamed up with PwC to drive a large-scale digital transformation. Through the TamaUP program, the company embarked on an enterprise-wide move to Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications—including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Human Capital Management (HCM)—, creating a unified platform to manage its global operations.
Industry benchmarks from similar AI-enabled manufacturing and supply chain transformations show potential for substantial value creation, including 20–50% better forecasting performance, 10–20% lower excess inventory, 10–30% faster planning cycles, and up to 15% improvement in supply chain cost efficiency as data, processes, and adoption mature. Tama is already exploring operational AI and GenAI models in these areas, expecting selected use cases to start delivering positive business outcomes soon. These gains can directly support higher ROI, faster payback, lower working capital requirements, and stronger operating margins. For Tama, the Oracle platform is more than a system of record—it becomes an intelligent operating platform for resilience, growth, and continuous improvement.
What sparked the need for change?
“As we expanded globally, we realized that demand wasn't our issue—infrastructure was. We were managing a highly complex global supply chain on legacy systems that couldn't keep up. Our customers expect speed, transparency, and service levels akin to technology companies, not traditional factories. We wanted our teams to see the entire picture—inventory, production, transportation, and customers—in real time, and to act before problems arise, not after. At that point, after the implementation rollout, we’re expecting to have that value soon and to make it clear: if the business side isn’t reflected in the project, there is no project.”
What made the transformation successful?
“TamaUP was never just an IT initiative—it was about re-engineering how we run the business. We helped shape the vision, prioritize business value, and select Oracle Fusion Cloud as the platform that could support our global complexity and future growth. Our role went far beyond system implementation. We brought deep manufacturing and supply chain expertise, change management capabilities, and a delivery model built on shared accountability. The ‘triangle’ structure—business lead, IT lead, and our consultant in every workstream—ensured decisions were grounded in real operational needs.”
Where did technology meet human ingenuity?
“Now, after the new implementation and cross-organization rollout, we are in a stage where we can bring the value to the business side. We expect Oracle Fusion Cloud to provide a foundation that combines real-time data, embedded analytics, and AI-driven insights directly into daily workflows.
We’ll have visibility across our end-to-end supply chain, improved demand forecasting, better inventory optimization, and standardized financial controls. Just as important, our people trust the data. That trust changes how decisions are made and enables continuous improvement.”
What business outcomes have you seen so far?
“This transformation is changing the DNA of Tama. We’ve successfully gone live across more than 10 manufacturing sites, improved inventory accuracy, reduced inventory costs, strengthened operating margins, and increased our ability to respond quickly to disruption—whether market-driven or geopolitical. Our One Team approach, spanning our teams in Israel and the US, gave us confidence throughout the journey. The result is not just a modern cloud platform, but an organization that is better prepared for future acquisitions, continued growth, and the next generation of talent.”
Through our collaboration with Oracle, PwC helped Tama Group turn digital transformation into measurable business value—delivering a resilient, intelligent, and scalable operating model built for the future of manufacturing.
