Chairman's message: Global Annual Review 2020

Hi, I’m Bob Moritz, the Global Chairman of PwC, and welcome to our 2020 Global Annual Review. Just like many of you watching, I’m not currently in a work office and just like you I am learning new and different ways to work.

As we reflect on 2020, it’s clear that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact deeply affecting all of us. 

The health, social and economic crisis has impacted many people around the world, including the professionals at PwC and their families. And likewise it’s affected so many of our stakeholders as well as their friends and families and our hearts go out to all that have been affected by this tremendously challenging time.

When the pandemic first hit, it was clear we had to mobilise quickly and adapt to the new challenges in front of us with the focus on our stakeholders. First we had to make sure that we were paying particular attention to the safety and well-being of our people, while in parallel serving the needs of our clients in this immediate time of crisis and dealing with the after effects. While at the same time taking into consideration the needs of their stakeholders and focusing on the needs of the communities in which we live and work. And all of this was enabled by leveraging technology to deliver quality services to all those that we interact with.

It was clear that PwC came together like no time before and it was great to see us quickly adapt with so much change going on around us. It was also great to see so many people around the world connect with, interact with and deliver in such a way that thought about the needs of our stakeholders.
