At PwC, we embrace unique identities and diversity to build a culture of belonging.

Emmanuel Bardet, senior manager, PwC France, “We can express ourselves, we can speak up, we can be who we are.”

Adeline Chin, director and Shine sponsor, PwC China alumni, “The more we understand each other, the fewer barriers we will have.”

Cezary Żelaźnicki, partner and CEE inclusion & diversity leader, PwC Poland, “By having the Shine community talking about the LGBT+ community, we remove taboo around the topic.”

Shine is PwC’s LGBT+ community and ally inclusion network. It helps nurture local and global connections, encouraging our professionals to be their authentic selves at work every day.

Emmanuel Bardet, senior manager, PwC France, “I think the Shine network is a great way to give visibility to those invisible people, and to create a safe place at work for everybody to talk and talk freely.”

Adeline Chin, director and Shine sponsor, PwC Hong Kong, “I feel safe actually, being my authentic self, not having to worry that there could be repercussions.“

Chloe Langbroek, manager and Shine co-chair, PwC Australia, “I can be my whole self and my whole self is very much the best possible person I can bring to work. And that means that I do much better at work and I enjoy being at work more as a result.”

Shine communities are growing in numbers across the PwC network, bringing together colleagues, families, friends and allies.

Cezary Żelaźnicki, partner and CEE inclusion & diversity leader, PwC Poland, “Being part of an organisation that accepts people for who they are fills me with courage. I feel that I'm surrounded by people, by allies, which in turn gives me confidence.”

Jeferson Correia, senior associate, PwC Brazil, “They are bringing what they learn to others, sometimes with the family, sometimes with colleagues or friends and this is really important because we are thinking about how large is our impact.”

PwC and the Shine Networks are committed to supporting meaningful change.

Chloe Langbroek, manager and Shine co-chair, PwC Australia, “Supporting the ‘Yes’ vote for marriage equality in Australia. So obviously there were a lot of people within Shine that drove that internally, but then ultimately the Australian firm really stepped up and was a real leader in Australian business in getting behind that ‘Yes’ vote.”

Emmanuel Bardet, senior manager, PwC France, “As part of the community myself, as a gay guy, I know for sure that I have the same career opportunities as anyone else at PwC.”
