Girls Who Excel was created to exclusively support young women in underserved communities by strengthening digital capability and confidence in ways that connect learning with opportunity.
Delivered in Arabic, the programme addresses barriers that can limit access to technology-focused skills and professional pathways, particularly where language and representation play a decisive role.
Developed by women from PwC Middle East’s Consulting line of service to expand participation in technology and challenge traditional perceptions of tech careers, the programme was formalised and scaled with a focus on Excel as a practical, transferable skill. Running across Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Lebanon, the programme combines technical learning with workplace readiness and confidence-building, enabling participants to apply their skills in real contexts. For some, this has led directly to progression, including internships at PwC Middle East, demonstrating how inclusive, targeted upskilling can create pathways beyond training alone.
