Canada's CFO of the Year ™ 2016 award nominations now open

TORONTO, October, 15, 2015 – Nominations are now being accepted at www.cfoy.ca for the 2016 Canada's CFO of the Year™ Award. The presenting sponsors for the 2016 award are Financial Executives International Canada (FEI Canada), PwC and Robert Half. Now in its 15th year, the award honours the quality, insight, direction and leadership of Canada’s senior financial leaders. Nominations close on December 18, 2015.

Candidates from any business sector may be nominated by CEOs, corporate directors, financial analysts and other senior executives. An independent selection committee, chaired by former winner Bruce Waterman, including some of Canada’s most prominent business leaders, will select the award winner. The recipient of Canada’s CFO of the Year™ Award will be honoured at a gala dinner at The Ritz Carlton, Toronto on Thursday, May 12, 2016.

“CFOs have an ever-expanding range of responsibilities, driven by increased business complexity,” said Michael Conway, President & Chief Executive Officer of FEI Canada. “This award recognizes financial executives who demonstrate integrity and leadership while balancing both immediate operational pressures and long-term strategic goals. We are proud to recognize the significant contributions of Canada’s senior financial leaders to both their organizations and the community at large.”

“The one certainty in today's economic environment is that change is constant. The role of today's CFO is intrinsically linked to a company's ability to adapt to that change and respond to an evolving business landscape," said Tahir Ayub, Managing Partner, Markets and Industries, PwC Canada. “Canada’s CFO of the Year™ Award recognizes excellence among Canada’s top financial leaders who employ innovative business practices - often redefining the conventional role of today’s CFO - in order to further position organizations to capitalize on new opportunities and navigate a shifting marketplace.”

David King, Canadian Director of Robert Half, added: “Canadian organizations continue to rely on their finance teams and CFOs for direction and guidance in achieving strategic business goals. Canada's CFO of the Year™ Award acknowledges the valuable contributions of the finance function within the organization and celebrates the CFOs who lead their teams to success.”
