PwC Endowment Fund at the Pontis Foundation
In March 2010, PwC Slovakia established an endowment fund managed by the Pontis Foundation. In line with our global strategy of responsible business conduct, the endowment fund’s goal is to support projects implemented by non-profit organizations and local administrations that help communities from various sectors and support the education of talent and the use of modern technology in Slovakia. We seek to achieve this goal via long-term partnerships with specific non-profit organizations, our Helping Hand employee grant programme, and donations for charitable and development activities.
Educational support
We care about education, as education enhances the lives of individuals and communities. Our main activities include educational support for disabled children, children and young people from Romany communities, and the support of talent as regards modern technology.
Support for communities
Collaboration with communities is one of the important pillars of our ESG strategy. We establish long-term partnerships with communities and support them via financial donations. We also support communities within our Helping Hand employee grant programme.
Helping Hand grant programme
As part of our endowment fund, we run the Helping Hand employee grant programme that awards grants in annual grant rounds. Only projects PwC employees are directly involved in, or projects recommended by PwC employees are eligible for grants. Since its establishment, i.e. from 2010 to 2023, the PwC’s Endowment Found has supported 230 non-profit projects nominated by our employees by awarding grants of a total of €316,098 via the Helping Hand employee grant programme.
In autumn 2023, the 14th year of the Helping Hand grant programme took place. The Pontis Foundation received 18 valid applications from our employees. Our employees voted, and the 14 projects with the most votes (PDF) were awarded grants between €1,500 and €2,000 from the total amount of €22,500.
Projects supported outside of the Helping Hand employee grant programme are realized in strategic (long-term) partnerships with non-profit organizations and the amount of support is determined by company management, comprising partners from individual departments. When selecting projects and making decisions, company management takes into account compliance of the local corporate social responsibility strategy with the global strategy of the company’s responsible business conduct.
