The UAE Cabinet issued Resolution No. 109 on 13 July 2026, adding RAK International Corporate Centre ("RAK ICC") to the schedule of Free Zones under Cabinet Resolution No. 54 of 2023 with retroactive effect from 1 June 2023 – the date from which UAE Corporate Tax ("CT") applies. This is a significant development for private wealth structuring. RAK ICC previously operated as a corporate registry rather than a Free Zone. RAK ICC companies can now qualify as Qualifying Free Zone Persons (‘QFZPs’) and benefit from the 0% CT rate on Qualifying Income instead of 9%.
