Status of file as of June 19, 2025

Following Court approval on June 16, 2025, the Monitor distributed the remaining Sale Proceeds to the Lenders on June 17, 2025.

Pursuant to the Approval and Vesting Order, on June 19, 2025 (the "Date of Bankruptcy"), the Monitor made an assignment of 1528615 B.C. Ltd (“ResidualCo”) into Bankruptcy. PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., LIT ("PwC") was appointed as Licensed Insolvency Trustee of the estate of ResidualCo.

Notice of the Bankruptcy and the first meeting of creditors (the "Meeting") and materials relating to the Bankruptcy proceedings (the "Notice") will be circulate to all creditors and made available on this website in new tab titled ‘Bankruptcy Documents’

Status of file as of June 16, 2025

On June 16, 2025, the Court approved the following in relation to the Monitor's June 12, 2025, application:

  1. Authorisation for the distribution of the remaining Sale Proceeds to the Lenders;
  2. Approval of the fees and disbursements of the Monitor and the Monitor's Counsel;
  3. Approval of the activities and conduct of the Monitor; and 4. Termination of the CCAA proceedings upon issuance of the Monitor's Certificate.

Status of file as of June 12, 2025

A hearing has been scheduled for June 16, 2025 to hear the application filed by the Monitor on June 12, 2025, seeking approval on the following matters:

  1. Authorisation for the distribution of the remaining Sale Proceeds to the Lenders;
  2. Approval of the fees and disbursements of the Monitor and the Monitor's Counsel;
  3. Approval of the activities and conduct of the Monitor; and
  4. Termination of the CCAA proceedings upon issuance of the Monitor's Certificate.

The Monitor has posted its Fourth Report to Court (found under the Monitor's Reports tab), which speaks to the approvals that the Monitor is requesting from Court, alongside an update on activities since the Monitor's Third Report.

Status of file as of April 29, 2025

On April 29, 2025, the Court approved the following in relation to the Monitor's April 25, 2025, application:

  1. Authorization for the Monitor to distribute an Interim Distribution to the Lenders for amounts owing to them and secured against the assets of CCBD and RealtyCo
  2. An extension of the Stay of Proceedings up to and including June 30, 2025.

Status of file as of April 25, 2025

A hearing has been scheduled for April 29, 2025, to hear the application filed by the Monitor on April 25, 2025, seeking approval on two matters:

  1. Authorisation of an Interim Distribution to the Lenders; and
  2. An extension of the Stay of Proceedings

The Monitor has posted its Third Report to Court (found under the Monitor's Reports tab), which speaks to the approvals that the Monitor is requesting from Court, alongside an update on activities since the Monitor's Second Report.

Status of file as of February 18, 2025

On February 18, 2025, the Court approved the following in relation to the Company's February 12, 2025, application:

  1. An Order approving the Sale and Reverse Vesting Order for Central City to the Successful Bidder of the Court approved SISP; and 
  2. An Order approving the extension of the Stay of Proceedings up to and including April 30, 2025.

Status of file as of February 12, 2025

A hearing has been scheduled for February 18, 2025 to hear the application filed by the Company on February 12, 2025, seeking approval on two matters:

1. The approval of a transaction as the SISP is now complete; and

2. An extension of the stay of proceedings.

A copy of the Company's notification to stakeholders, which was distributed today, can be found under the Creditor Communications tab. Additional court materials including the Monitor's Second Report will be uploaded over the few working days.

Status of file as of November 28, 2024

On November 28, 2024, the Court granted an Amended and Restated Initial Order, granting:

  • An increase charge in favor of the Interim Lenders;
  • An increase in the Administration Charge; and, 
  • An extension of the stay of proceedings to February 28. 2025. 

In addition, the Court approved the Sale and Investment Solicitation Process.

Status of file as of November 27, 2024

In preparation of the hearing to take place on November 28, 2024 (the "Comeback Hearing"), the Monitor has posted the applicable motion materials (found under the Motion Materials tab).

The Company is seeking to have the following approved by the Court at the Comeback Hearing:

  • An increase charge in favor of the Interim Lenders; 
  • An increase in the Administration Charge; 
  • An extension of the stay of proceedings to February 28, 2025; and 
  • Approval of the Sale and Investment Solicitation Process. 

The Monitor has posted its First Report to the Court (found under the Monitor's Reports tab), which speaks to the approvals the Company is seeking from the Court, alongside providing an update on the activities since the Filing Date.

A summary of the hearing and any orders made by the Court will be posted to this website shortly after the hearing.

Status of file as of November 21, 2024

On November 21, 2024 (the "Filing Date"), Central City Brewers and Distillers Ltd and CCBD Realty Holding Corp, (collectively the “Company” or “the Petitioners”) sought and obtained an Initial Order of the Supreme Court of British Columbia (the “Court”) pursuant to the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (the “CCAA”).

PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. LIT (“PwC”) was appointed as the Monitor. As a result of the CCAA filing, there is a stay of proceedings in place until December 1, 2024, (the “Initial Stay”), subject to any extensions of the Initial Stay that the Court might grant upon application by the Company.

The next court application will be Thursday, November 28 2024 (the “Comeback hearing”).

Notice of the CCAA and the Monitor’s appointment will be emailed or mailed to all affected creditors shortly and will be posted under the creditor’s communication tab.

The Monitor will post regular status updates to this website and post future Monitor reports and Court materials, as they become available during the CCAA proceedings.
