Growth reimagined – prospects in the Middle East drive CEOs’ confidence
PwC’s 2010 Annual Global CEO Survey reveals that across the world, CEOs face business environments still recovering from the worst economic crisis in 75 years; this is no surprise. What is revealing though is the level of confidence with which they are viewing this recovery – a sense of opportunity akin to that seen prior to the slump.
In its 14th edition, PwC’s CEO survey compiles the responses of over 1,200 business leaders in 69 countries across 16 industry sectors. This supplement focuses on the insights provided by business leaders we interviewed in the Middle East, the opportunities and challenges they face and how they are adapting their strategies to achieve growth. Its Foreword includes a commentary on the potential impact of the dramatic changes taking place in the region since the survey was conducted.
Middle East CEOs interviewed, unlike their global counterparts, expressed a unique and obvious sense of enthusiasm for a full recovery in the region. As their businesses mature, they reveal evolving strategies that demand new approaches to governance, risk, growth, technology, human capital and talent, as well as innovation.
